New enhanced and user-friendly version of WF-RepTool!

The WEEE Forum is thrilled to announce the release of an upgraded and more user-friendly version of the WF-RepTool, designed to streamline e-waste management processes.

Since 17th February 2025, WEEE Forum members users of the classic version of the tool are following a gradual launching plan for managing the import of reports to the new version.

The new version of the tool is using the same calculation methodology and principles of the former tool and allows users to:

  • calculate e-waste recycling and recovery rates using a harmonized system
  • monitor output fractions downstream until achieving end-of-waste status
  • construct comprehensive flowcharts covering the entire chain of e-waste treatment processes with just one click
  • collect data on e-waste material composition
  • determine depollution results
  • report and document treatment performance and results seamlessly to third parties, such as governments, auditors, and producers

To encourage exploration, users can now register for a trial version that grants access to a premium license for a 14-day testing period.

Existing users of the former version will retain access until the end of their licenses. Starting February 2026, only licenses for the new version will be available for purchase.

For actors using the former version of WF-RepTool, a migration of reports is possible upon request. Interested users are encouraged to contact the WEEE Forum for information about the migration process, applicable to reports dating from 2018 onwards.

New License Fee System Introduced: Catering to Diverse User Needs

The upgraded WF-RepTool introduces a revamped license fee system, catering to different user types, license levels, and the number of reported plants. Three types of licenses are now available:

1. Free License: Aimed at downstream operators reporting on the treatment of specific output fractions arising from requests of basic and premium users.

2. Basic License: Tailored for users consistently reporting to a second party, such as a treatment operator reporting to an extended producer responsibility organization (EPRO).

3. Premium License: Designed for highly active users requiring speedy reporting, coordination and sharing of multiple reports, internal monitoring of processing operations, and multiple reporting to third parties.

Moreover, specific fees are assigned based on the user type, with special considerations for WEEE Forum members. Auditors, treatment operators, producers, and EPROs not affiliated with the WEEE Forum are required to declare their status when calculating the total fee associated with the license.

This upgrade represents a significant leap forward in the realm of e-waste management, offering users an intuitive and efficient tool to drive sustainability efforts.

Stay tuned for more updates and innovations from the WEEE Forum!
